How to Turn on a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit Hotspot

by C. Taylor

When traveling, you might be unable to find a public hot spot to connect your laptop or other portable devices. Fortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit offers a hot spot feature that enables the device to share its cellular data plan by creating a secured wireless network. Note that most cellular providers require an add-on plan before the hot spot feature can be enabled on their network.

    Step 1

Tap the "Menu" key from the home screen and select "Settings."

    Step 2

Tap "More Settings," select "Tethering and Mobile HotSpot" and slide the "Mobile HotSpot" switch to the On position. If you haven't set up the hot spot before, you need to establish a password.

    Step 3

Tap the "Password" field and enter a password that is at least eight characters long.

    Step 4

Tap "Save" to complete setup and enable the hot spot.

    • To change hot spot settings, such as SSID name, encryption type or password, tap "Menu | Settings | More Settings | Tethering and Mobile HotSpot | Mobile HotSpot | Configure | Show Advanced Options."

    • Using your data plan could incur significant data charges if you go over your plan's limit.
